Our Summer Teen Tours
The Wild Traveler leads summer teen tours to threatened and rapidly changing places. Participants explore and learn about these places through a variety of activities. Some of these activities include, surfing, SCUBA diving, white water rafting, hiking, and service. Our summer teen tours also give our participants a hands on way to learn about the areas natural history, human history, and culture. We learn about the issues facing these places and conclude our summer teen tours with a service learning project that focuses on preservation and conservation.
Our ParticipantsWe want our participants to have a physically and emotionally safe, fun, and exciting experience while gaining a stronger sense of responsibility, independence and new skills help them through high school, college, and beyond. Throughout our summer teen tours, our leaders facilitate small group initiatives and a variety of fun games and friendly competitions. As our summer teen tours progress, our participants (who were once strangers) metamorphosize into high functioning team machines while creating solid lifelong friendships.
Our LeadersWe have awesome experienced leaders on every one of our teenage summer programs. Our trip leaders have a minimum of 5 years worth of trip leading experience AND they are familiar with the places we lead – surprisingly you won’t find that with larger companies. Our PartnersOur Hawaii teen tours partnered up with Jacks Diving Locker for our SCUBA certification course in Hawaii – They are one of the best SCUBA facilities in the states and have the awards to prove it. On Kauai we work with Kayak Kauai. Their surf pros instruct our surf lessons and lead our kayak paddle in gentle Hanalei Bay.
It’s all Included!The Wild Traveler provides everything you’ll need for our summer teen tours. Ground transportation, inter-island flights, 3 first aid/ CPR certified leaders, food, instruction, equipment, all activities, SCUBA certification course, group gear, etc! It’s all included! Participants will need to pack items from our pack list. Don’t have one of the items? Let us know and we’ll lend you that item – FREE! All items are clean and in “like new” condition. Everything is included!
ScholarshipsNot only are we less expensive than other similar looking teen tour companies – we also provide some scholarships to families who could use a little extra help. Our scholarships are solely funded by The Wild Traveler and are available according to need. Click to learn more about our scholarship program.
We CareThe Wild Traveler donates 20% of it’s profits to non-profits (eg. The Waipa Foundation and Project Aware) who tirelessly work to restore, conserve, and preserve these wonderful places in which we travel.
