Our summer teen tours include lessons in human history. Teenagers will learn about the ancient Hawaiians social hierarchy and the kapu (the ancient Hawaiian’s code of conduct and regulations) while visiting historical places of importance such as the Naha Stone, “The Place of Refuge” Puʻuhonua O Hōnaunau, and Pu’ukohola Heiau - an ancient Hawaiian Temple built by King Kamehameha I. Not only will our participants take part in our multisport activities, our summer teen tours also allow our participants to experience Hawaii’s unique culture. Teenagers will learn to speak a little Hawaiian Pidgen – a language created so that the immigrants, the Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese and Filipinos, Hawaiians, and Americans could communicate on the sugar cane plantations. What evolved is a true language. Almost all people who live here weave some pidgin into their daily conversation, education and upbringing notwithstanding. On our summer teen tours, our participants will also get to sample Hawaiian cuisine like poi, musubi, loco moco, and shave ice from some of the best local restaurants. Nothing like a true Hawaiian feast after getting open water SCUBA certified! With island music, farmers markets, and a beautiful landscape – you will feel like you are in whole other country.
